SUN functional, in the world.
A South African sunscreen stick shown in bright, hard summer light: a set of product shots that put one small product in a large number of places and keep it unmistakable every time.
The brief
SKIN functional
SKIN functional is a South African science-led skincare brand with a plain-spoken voice. We took its sunscreen stick as a self-directed brief with one question: how many different places can a small product sit in before it stops looking like the same product? The answer has to be that it never stops.

The system
The system came first.
- 01
Hard summer light
Bright, directional sun with crisp shadows and saturated colour. The product is the pale object in every frame, so it reads at a glance.
- 02
A locked product
The real stick is the reference for every scene, so the label, cap and proportions hold from a tennis court to a pool.
- 03
One scene, one idea
Each frame has a single setting and a single colour story, such as blue court, clear water or a red basket, so the set feels varied but consistent.
- 04
Built for a scroll
Square-friendly crops and strong foreground subjects, so the product holds up as a small thumbnail in a feed.

Next
What we would do next.
The range goes well beyond the sun stick. The next round would be the serums and tonics in a calm studio system, ingredient-and-percentage ads in the brand's plain-spoken style, and creator-style content built around the three-step routine.
