Privacy policy.

Studio Default™ (“we”, “us”) is an AI-native creative studio based in Johannesburg, South Africa, producing campaign, UGC and ad creative for ecommerce brands. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are. It is written to meet South Africa’s POPIA and, for visitors in the EU/UK, the GDPR.

Enquiry details you choose to give us. When you start a project, you are taken to our enquiry form (hosted by Youform). There you may share your name, email, brand and a description of what you need. We use this only to respond to you and scope the work.

Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — pages visited, rough location (country/city), device and browser type, and how you arrived. This is only enabled if you accept analytics cookies in the banner; decline and no analytics data is collected.

We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not collect special-category personal information through this site.

A cookie is a small file a site stores on your device. We use only what is necessary to run the site, plus optional analytics cookies that load exclusively after you accept them. Full detail, including cookie names and how to control them, is on our Cookie Policy.

Responding to your enquiry: to take steps at your request before entering an agreement, and our legitimate interest in running the studio.

Analytics: your consent, given through the cookie banner, which you can withdraw at any time.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the site work: Youform (enquiry form), Google Analytics (site analytics, if accepted), and our host, Vercel. Each processes data on our behalf and some may store it outside South Africa; where that happens we rely on their standard safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to answer you and, if we work together, for the life of that relationship plus any period the law requires. Analytics data is retained for the period set in Google Analytics (14 months by default). You can ask us to delete your enquiry data at any time.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it — for analytics, reopen the cookie banner and decline. You may also object to processing and, in the EU/UK, ask for a copy of your data in a portable form.

To exercise any of these, email studiodefault.creative@gmail.com. If you are unhappy with how we respond, you can complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator, or your local data protection authority in the EU/UK.
